IWA DDBP Congress in Almería

On October 21st, the fourth International Conference on Disinfection and Disinfection Byproducts (IWA DDBP Almeria) was held in Almería, an event promoted by the IWA, where all topics related to disinfection are discussed.
Water professionals from around the world attended the event to share their experience and innovative vision in line with the conference theme. Their progress will shape the future of water management.
IWA conferences are widely recognized and influential for the sector, including academia, industry, water utilities, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
The Life PHOENIX and Life PURE AGRO H2O projects were responsible for opening this event with a joint workshop titled “Innovative Solutions for the Regeneration of Urban and Industrial Wastewater.” It featured the participation of important water sector professionals who presented:
- The technologies, objectives, and results obtained by the PHOENIX project in the regeneration of wastewater for agricultural use, as well as the performance of the different combinations of technologies designed for both small and large populations.
- The use of ANMBR technologies in the reuse of wastewater through the experience developed in the Life Zero Wastewater project.
- The PURE AGRO H2O project, as well as the results obtained throughout its development, with the aim of regenerating water for industrial use.
- The reuse of industrial effluents to harness the potential of microalgae using innovative photocatalytic nanofiltration reactors or natural solutions combined with solar photochemistry.
The workshop was a great success thanks to the generous participation of the speakers and the attendance of project partners (AdP - Águas de Portugal, CETIM Technological Centre, Guadalquivir Hydrographic Confederation, Diputación de Almería, microLAN bv, and Newland EnTech Europe). The Solar Energy Research Center (CIESOL) facilitated the development of this workshop in the best possible setting.
